On this page you can find a simple how-to-get started guide about how to purchase items inside M Ξ T A P L Ξ X and access the constructs. Even if you have never heard of anything mentioned on this guide below, please note that it should take approx. 15 min. to setup the entire system and later on possibly a day to have the Ether deposited into your digital wallet so you can begin purchasing.

We have divided the information available on this page to two different categories. First is the simple how-to-get-started guide and the second is a bit more in-depth one with some additional information how we incorporate and use these technologies in M Ξ T A P L Ξ X.
As this page is about a more general setup, if you have any artwork specific questions we would suggest you to click here and check out the ‘read more about this . . ’ hyperlinks for each individual construct or division.

This guide below elaborates this three simple steps:

1- Install Metamask to your browser [preferably Chrome or Firefox]
2- Deposit funds to your digital wallet [Metamask]
3- Begin purchasing within blockchain and add tokens to your wallet

1.1 Installing Metamask, your digital wallet.

Firstly, you need a digital wallet. A digital wallet refers to an electronic device or online service that allows an individual to make electronic transactions. This can include purchasing items on-line with a computer or using a smartphone to purchase something at a store. 

Currently, only digital wallet we support is Metamask. Quoting from their website; “MetaMask is a bridge that allows you to visit the distributed web of tomorrow in your browser today. It allows you to run Ethereum dApps [decentralized applications] right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node. MetaMask includes a secure identity vault, providing a user interface to manage your identities on different sites and sign blockchain transactions.”

A digital wallet acts like a bank account and it runs as an extension to Chrome, Firefox or Tor. You can think of this like a more futuristic PayPal.

1.2 What’s ether (ETH)? Why do I need it?

Ether is a digital currency currency/token that powers the Ethereum blockchain network. You can think of it like Bitcoin with a quite different design in nature. M Ξ T A P L Ξ X utilises the embedded OpenSea* distribution and Ethereum cryptocurrency to sell tokens for our projects. Therefore, currently you can’t use USD/GBP/EUR directly to buy products from our webpage, currencies need to be converted into ETH first. 2.1 How to buy ether?

If it’s your first time purchasing ether, you will need to verify your identity and this can take a day or two. There usually are two methods, one is to link the bank account to your digital wallet but we recommend you to buy ether directly using your credit card. This option is a bit like topping up your travelcard and using that balance to purchase within the blockchain.

Later on, after you deposit the ETH to your digital wallet you’ll be able to start purchasing and trading within the blockchain using Metamask.

3.1 How to purchase tokens from the store?

If you have deposited some funds to your digital wallet you have done the %99 of the work already. As the procedure is more or less the same for any construct or division, for this example we’ll be assuming you have visited this site and clicked on ‘purchase A.I.F.X Key’ to buy a token…

You’ll be taken to the OpenSea webpage with a number of tokens available, by the time of writing each cost 0.05 ETH. Just find the one that you like and click on the thumbnail and click ‘BUY NOW’, a Metamask pop-up should appear asking you to ‘Confirm’ the transaction. When you click ‘Confirm’ it should take a few seconds [or minutes] for the transaction to appear on the blockchain and you should see a ‘Your transaction succeeded!’ text on the webpage whence it happens!

3.2 How to use the tokens?

The script will check if you do own it, so you do not have to do anything manually.

[+ BONUS] Also, if you want to see the tokens in your digital wallet, you can go through this last step.

Whence you have purchased the token, lastly you have to add it to your wallet in a few very simple steps; open Metamask and click MENU [three horizontal lines on left], click ‘Add token’ on the very bottom and go to the ‘Custom Token’ tab. Enter the hash of the smart contract to the ‘Token Contract Address’, now click okay and the oken should appear in your tokens list. As this example is for A.I.F.X, the hash is 0xb19a7BF69492fA2642f4774C8FA501AaF5C427d2. In the future you can find such details from each artworks dedicated page.

Now, you possess the ticket that grants entry to this game and should be able to enter the simulation, have fun!
